How Important is Site Search?

Site search is one of the most integral interaction points for an ecommerce site. Not only are visitors that search more likely to convert but relevant search also enhances a visitors on-site experience. “On e-commerce sites, up to 30% of visitors will use the site search box, and each of these users is showing a possible intent to purchase by entering product names or codes.” -Econsultancy 1. Site search can be used as a potential data mining resource to improve the ROI of your company dramatically – simply by identifying the terms that are used in the searches and items that are more frequently searched for. 2. By keeping a track of search reports, ecommerce retailers can respond to the behavioural changes of the user and hence improve user experience greatly. 3. The rich site search data can be skillfully used to refine content marketing, email campaigns, as well as merchandizing efforts. —————————————————————————————————————– We’d love to know what you think of the results of the ecommerce Site Search Survey and how this data has helped you.
